Gordon Richard Spears passed away peacefully November 30, 2009 at the age of 89.

Gordon was born in Murrayville, B.C., then moved to Duncan, where he met and married Vivian Mckenzie of Nanaimo. They had a daughter, Arlene and a son Larry in Duncan.

In 1952 they packed up and headed to Quesnel where Gordon was starting his new job with Garner Bros. Logging. While in Quesnel two more daughters were born, Janice and Patsy.

In 1967 they bought Riverview Grocery and Confectionary. While in Quesnel, Gordon spent many hours volunteering for the Legion. Several years he was on the executive as the treasurer. He was also very proud in helping get Dunrovin built. Gordon eventually ended up in the Okanagan, where he was a member of the Kelowna Vintage Car Club.

Gordon is survived by his partner Carmen Cross, his children, Arlene, Larry (Myrna), Janice (Bob) Douglass and Patsy (Les) Woollends. 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by his wife Vivian in 2001, and parents Richard and Daisy Spears of Duncan, B.C.
