Harold Walter Anweiler

The family of Harold Walter Anweiler would like to announce his peaceful passing on January 11, 2010 at the age of 79 with family by his side. His mother Elizabeth was from Austria and his father Rudolph was from Russia. They moved to Melville Saskatchewan and had six children. Harold was the youngest child being born on September 11, 1930. He worked for a railway company and did cleanup on the tracks. Between 1962/63 he worked for Alcan, an aluminum plant in Kitimat and drove a taxi. He was the top salesman Canada wide for Electrolux and in 1971 moved with his family to Williams Lake where he worked at McLeod’s. In 1971 he moved to Quesnel and sold furniture in the current Gateway Furnishing location on Reid Street in Quesnel. He married his first wife, Ethel, on September 16, 1951 and had three children. In 1977 he worked at West Fraser Mills until his retirement at age 55 in 1985. He was a loving and devoted husband to Ethel until her passing in 1993. On October 11, 1998 Harold married Merna and they had a loving and happy marriage for eleven years. Harold will be remembered for his love and devotion to his children and grandchildren. He was an amazing canasta player and had one of a kind sense of humor. He knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and his biggest wish was for all of his family to come to understand His love. Harold was predeceased by; his parents; Elizabeth and Rudolph. His wife; Ethel and siblings; John, Rudy, Emma and Minnie. Harold is survived by his wife; Merna and brother; Ernie. Daughters Shawna (Morgan), Connie (Otto) and Laurie (Gary). Stepdaughter Sherylnne and stepsons Randy and David. And nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for him in the Quesnel and Prince George hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Quesnel chapter of the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
