It is with great sadness the family of Helen Marie Carrier announces her passing on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010.

Helen was born in rural central Saskatchewan near Leask on Sept. 7th, 1931. In 1952, Helen married Leonard Carrier and they had four children.

In the mid-1960s, she met John Potenteau and they had two sons.

Helen, John and the family moved to Quesnel in 1973, and, shortly thereafter, she joined B.C.’s workforce, first at Cariboo Pulp, then many years in B.C.’s reforestation program, where she met and gained many friends.

Helen enjoyed gardening and canning the harvest, which she then shared with many people. She also took great joy in surrounding her home with many colourful flowers.

Helen is survived by sons Dean, Clint, Doyle and Duane, grandchildren Brandi, Brad and Rhiannon, Kara, Noah and Coden plus great grandchildren Garnet, Grace and Gavin and Dallas plus longtime partner and friend John.

A gathering will be held on Friday, May 21st, at the Elks Hall in West Quesnel, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All friends are invited to attend and share memories of Helen’s life.

Helen was predeceased by son Glen and daughter Dallas and great grandchild Kalem.

Rest in peace mother, you certainly earned it.
