As a young man Harry was one of the original tree planters in 1930 at the now famous Green Timbers Forest. During the 40’s Harry was a machinist in a Vancouver shipyard and also an active pacifist.

Harry built their present home on French Road. There he enjoyed his large bountiful garden, saw milling, carpentry, woodworking, a good political discussion, playing his banjo and being with the family.
