1969-2021 ~ It is with broken hearts we announce the passing away of Ian Kell Harding on March 25 2021. Ian passed away in his home surrounded by his family, and listening to Led Zeppelin.
Ian was born in 1969 in Sarnia Ontario and was the youngest of four. He moved to Quesnel in 1997 and became a lifer.
Ian certainly left his mark on this little town, playing ball, working in kitchens, teaching cooking at the college, he just seemed to know everyone. Ian would later find his true calling as an advocate and will be dearly missed by the people he served with humour and respect over his many years.
Ian was a fun coworker. There was always a lot of laughter no matter where he went. He had a unique ability to connect with people and the friendships he forged in all of his work places became life long.
Ian was an advocate on his down time as well. In 2014 he was a part of a group of local bikers who formed the North Cariboo temp chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse. Ian served as the chapter President from 2015-2017 and then again from 2019 until the very end of his life.
Ian leaves behind his wolf pack, his wife Dawn, his daughters Jillian and Aaliyah Harding, his step sons Tristan Shelmerdine, and Kolbi Mighton-Cameron and step daughter Cara Mighton.
He is survived by his mother Betty Harding, brother Mark (Minon) Harding, sisters, Lynn (Leon) Van Haarren, Karen (Donnie) McGaw, as well as biological parents Gina Mercurio, and Don (Kelly) Burden, little brother Josh (Sasha) Burden, little sister Stephanie Siem as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ian had many friends that were his brothers, thank you to all of them for their love and support during this hard time.
