Oct 6, 1942 - Jan 3, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Lorenz (nee Corless) announce her passing on January 3, 2018 in the presence of her loving family at GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, BC.

Ida Rose Corless was born on October 6, 1942 in Quesnel, BC.  Her parents, Martha and Tom Corless moved to Quesnel in 1940 from Wingdam.  Tom and Martha had five daughters, Anne, Vera, Ida, Barbara and Debbie.  The family resided in Quesnel and Ida graduated from nursing school in 1964.

Ida married Don Fowler in 1958 and together they had three daughters, Valerie, Brenda and Faith.  Later the couple divorced and Ida met Bob Scott and the family moved to Whiterock, BC.  Ida and Bob had two sons, Joel and Vince and the family returned to Quesnel.

Years later Ida and Bob separated and Ida met and married Franz Lorenz.  The family resided in Quesnel where Ida worked as a nurse at GR Baker Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.  Ida and Franz eventually divorced and Ida met Gerry Park, her loving partner of the last 43 years, who often called her "Rosie".

Ida was very dedicated to her family, friends and her work as a nurse.  She loved animals and had many friends who gathered at her home many times over the years to enjoy a chat.  Ida loved travelling, her family, her friends and her dog Charlie.

Ida is predeceased by her parents, Tom and Martha, her sister Barbara, and her grandsons, Tyler and Casey.

She is survived by her loving partner Gerry, her sisters, Anne, Vera and Debbie, her daughters Valerie, Brenda (Gary), Faith and her sons Joel and Vince (Susan), her grandchildren Joey, Stephanie, David, Nathan, Corey, Katelyn, Jared and Justis and her great-grandson Gavin as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and tea for Ida will be held at the Quesnel Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday, January 25th, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Claytons Funeral Home officiating.

Those wishing to honour her memory can do so by way of donation to the GR Baker Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
