Iris Hilfred Brown passed away suddenly at her home in Quesnel on June 13, 2008.

Iris was born February 1, 1934 in Teulon, Manitoba, and moved to Duncan, B.C. in 1936 with her parents and sister Bernice.

Iris moved to Quesnel in 1986 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She made many close friends, became a member of the Red Hat Society, volunteered at the Red Cross loan cupboard and regularly played cards at the Golden Centre. Iris loved animals and birds, she enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and could often be seen pushing her walker with fishing rod and tackle box along the Riverfront Trail on her way to her favorite Fraser River fishing hole.

Iris will be sadly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Wilf Larsen, sister Bernice Graff (Paul), granddaughters Brenda, Sabrina and Gail, great grandson Geoffrey, niece Linda, nephews, Phillip and

Joe, great niece Kristen, great great niece Oliva and great great nephew Alexander, as well as her many close friends.

Iris was predeceased by her son Bobby and daughter Karen as well as her parents Lila and Norval.

An informal tea to celebrate Iris’ life will be held on June 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the community room at Maeford Place, 574 Kinchant Street, Quesnel. In lieu of flowers donations in Iris’ memory to the SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
