In Loving Memory ~

James "Jim" Hector Logie passed away in his sleep on October 5, 2023, at the age of 90.

Born in Summerland, BC, Jim moved his young family to Quesnel in the 1960s. Following in his father, Ted Logie's footsteps, Jim shared his own stories and gathered them too. Always ready with the coffee pot on, some of Jim's favourite subjects included his own early work on the railway, his fascination with the Kettle Valley Railroad, the early development of Quesnel and British Columbia, and the family stories from life as a boy in Summerland.

Jim was at times a hockey coach, a faller and log truck driver, an outdoorsman and hunter, and was always tinkering in his workshop. Known for suspenders, books, sawdust, and a love of the outdoors, Jim was a dedicated worker who made friends wherever he went.

Jim was predeceased by Esther, his wife of 67 years, and leaves behind his children, Joanne (daughters Joleene and Jodi), Dave (Marie, children Jennifer and Shawn), Rick (Elice, children Ryan, Tyler, and Sadey), and Cathy-Jean (daughter Emily), along with 17 great-grandchildren.

We ask you to raise a coffee and remember Jim and his stories in your favourite way.

A celebration of life will be held in August 2024 in Quesnel, BC, and will bring together the stories of both Jim and Esther in remembrance. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.

Heartfelt thanks to the exceptional nursing staff at Dunrovin Lodge and Maple House and to Jodi Van Horne for her compassionate care.
