In Loving Memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Ragis announces her peaceful passing on January 26, 2024 at the age of 95.

Wee Jeanie Broon (must be said with a strong Scottish accent) as she was affectionately called growing up, was born and raised in Dunfermline Scotland. She married the love of her life Bert, and together they welcomed their daughter Pat.

In 1957, the family embarked on a new journey, immigrating to Canada and settling in Surrey. A few years later, their family was complete with the arrival of their daughter Jane. In 1963, they moved to Quesnel, where they made it their home for 50 years. Here they made lifelong friends, and countless memories, especially watching their daughters and grandchildren grow up.

However after a number of heartbreaking losses, Jean moved to Calgary to be near Pat and her family. Jean was a voracious reader and a demon at crossword puzzles. She enjoyed playing cards, darts, bowling, golfing and travelling with friends and family.

Jean was a loving and fun Nana to her grandkids and will be remembered for many wonderful memories like reading stories, beating them at darts, feeding them homemade soups and grilled cheese sandwiches just to name a few.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Bert in 2007 and daughter Pat in 2022.

She is survived by her daughter Jane (Brad), son-in-law Chris, grandchildren Lisa (Jim), Lynda (Sean), Curtis (Megan), Haley (Tam), 6 great-grandchildren with another due any day and 3 great great grandchildren.

May she now be resting in peace.
