It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerome (Jerry) Castle of Quesnel, British Columbia. He passed away surrounded by family on August 31st, 2022, following a bravely fought battle with lung cancer. Jerome Roderick Kenneth Castle was born on May 27th, 1947, in Vancouver, British Columbia to Mary Ellen McPhee and Stewart Vernon Castle. As a child Jerry lived in various locations throughout BC including Trail, Penticton, and Chilliwack.
Jerry met his beautiful wife in Trail, BC in 1967 they later married on January 13th, 1969. They lived in Cranbrook and then moved to Quesnel in 1972. Where they had son Marcus and daughter Carri-anne. Jerry worked at Cariboo Pulp and Paper from 1972 until he retired in 2011. Jerry enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, and golfing with many friends and family. He loved to travel, and he went to various places in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In his later years, he and Dianne explored various communities in BC including the Nass Valley where they enjoyed taking in the First Nations arts and culture. They stopped at CFNR radio station in Terrace, BC where he met Wild William Wesley and proclaimed that he was the stations number one fan. Jerry was well known for his love of music, enjoying a few beverages and his friendly, joking attitude.
Jerry was predeceased by his mother Mary in 1977, his father Stewart in 2009, brother Allen in 2015. Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years Dianne Castle, his son Marcus Castle, daughter Carri-anne Castle (Daniel Fulton), grandchildren Christopher Fulton, Kevin Fulton, and Emily Castle. His mom Dru Castle of Kimberley, BC, and brother Steven Castle (Laurie) of Rossland, BC, sister-in-law Maureen Castle of Keremeos, BC, brothers-in-law Jerry Warner (Sandy) of Kimberley, BC, Richard Warner of Prince George, BC, Darryl Warner (Barb) of Creston, BC as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and numerous dear friends. Jerry's family would like to express their gratitude to the numerous doctors and nurses involved in his care as well as the incredible support from family and friends. There will be no service by request.
