John Delano Bennett was born on February 28, 1943 and passed away at home on March 28, 2009.

John was the youngest of five children born to the late Eldon and Clara Bennett.

John came to Quesnel with his family in 1948 where he remained a resident until his passing. John was a carpenter working on many buildings and homes here in Quesnel. He finished his work career at Weldwood Plywood plant in February 2003 retiring on his 60th birthday.

John loved his family, the great outdoors and traveling worldwide, living each day as it came.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Jolene (David), son Brian, siblings Gerald, Lucille (Crick) and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held April 4, 2009 at Clayton Funeral Home with Reverend Teri Meyers officiating.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to everyone that sent flowers, cards, made donations, dropped by with food, offered kind words and thoughts in our time of great sadness.

Special thank you to Jennifer and Alyssa McGregor. Thank you to the staff at Clayton’s Funeral Chapel for their special touch and Sharon’s co-workers and friends who provided the tea.

We are so fortunate to live in such a caring community and to have such wonderful friends and family.

Sharon, Jolene, David & Brian
