John Llewellyn (Jack) Lewis passed away April 8, 2008 at Prince George Regional Hospital.

A service for Jack was held on April 12, 2008 at Clayton’s Funeral Home with Del Cyr officiating. Pallbearers were representatives of the Masonic Lodges in Cariboo District, with interment at the Quesnel Municipal Cemetery.

Jack was born on September 27, 1908 in Studdley, England. He started school in England, then moved to Canada with his family when he was 14. They settled near Marsden, Sask. where he enjoyed country life.

In 1937 he bought a barber shop in Marsden. In 1938 he moved to Victoria, B.C. where he worked as a greenskeeper at Uplands Golf Course. During the war he worked at a shipyard. He moved to Quesnel in 1952 and opened a barber shop where he worked until he retired at age 75.

Jack belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and Royal Canadian Legion.

His wife, Grace, passed away in 1980.

One June 21, 1986 he married Lila Curley at Quesnel, B.C. They resided at their home on Beach Crescent until he moved into Dunrovin Lodge where he lived for the last few years.

Jack is survived by his wife Lila, son Lorne (Anne), grandchildren Ryan Lewis, Shannon Lewis, Greg Hengel, Katey Hengel, nephews Barry Holtzman (Monique) and Keith Holtzman (Carole).
