Julie-Anne was born in Turner Valley, Alberta on December 1, 1956 to Jim and Careen Collins. Julie grew up in Clinton B.C. and later moved to Quesnel B.C. where she graduated high school and started a family of her own. Julie worked tirelessly as a custodian for the Quesnel School Board for more than 30 years. She enjoyed life and loved all who shared it with her. Julie passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on May 11, 2016.

All who knew Julie knew she had a love for many things. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and card making. She had many hobbies and took pride in all of them. Julie always had a project on the go. But if you really knew her, you knew that the love she had for her family was what she cherished most. There was not a holiday, birthday, or special occasion that passed that wasn’t somehow celebrated with a home-made card by ‘Julie-Anne’ and a parcel filled with little gifts. Julie was very talented in her crafts and loved to share these with the many special people in her life.

Julie loved her home, her garden, her many flowers, and her animals. She had a big heart and found room in it for all-people and animals alike. She had previously volunteered her time as a Big Sister, and was a positive role model for many. She often visited the daycare in the school where she worked just to say hi.

Julie was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Careen Collins, and by her youngest son Justin Kenneth Schonke in 1980.

Julie is lovingly remembered by her sons, Troy Schonke, and Corey (Callie) Schonke; her grandchildren Ryanna Schonke, Justin and Gabrielle Schonke, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

Julie had a zest for life and always lived each day to its fullest. It’s hard to imagine life without her. We feel that so many new memories have been taken from us, but we also know that she is in a better place. Julie will be forever remembered as a loving mother to her sons and a fun-loving, warm hearted Nana to her grandchildren. Her passing has left a hole in the hearts of many. She will be sadly missed. We love you Mom and Nana....to the moon and back.
