Kamilia Sarabyn passed away peacefully in her sleep at 10:45 pm on Friday Dec. 5, 2014 in her home at Dunrovin Park Lodge, in Quesnel, BC. She was 2 days short of celebrating her 92nd birthday.

Kamilia was born on Dec. 7, 1922 in Frampol Ukraine. She married Michael Sarabyn in Schleswig, Germany on May 25, 1945. Michael came to Canada in Feb. 1948 and sent for Kamilia to join him in Sept. 1948. They lived for a short time in Fort Williams, Ont. before moving to London, Ont . While in London they had two children, Rozanna, and Michael. In 1962 they decided to move across the country to settle in Prince George, BC.

Kamilia enjoyed being a homemaker, a gardener and an active member of the Ukranian Greek Othadox Church.

In 2010 Kamilia moved into Dunrovin Park Lodge where she could be watched over as her Alzheimer’s progressed.

Kamilia will always be in our hearts and forever remembered by her daughter Rozanna (Tom) Essery and Michael (Linda)Sarabyn. Her Grandchildren, Ken Scott, Stacy Zadko, Leah (Darren) Halfnights, Nicholas (Sue) Sarabyn and Matthew Sarabyn, as well as two great grandchildren, Keenan Zadko and Rylan Halfnights. Kamilia was predeceased by her husband Michael Sarabyn in Sept. 1977.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Fri. Dec. 12, 2014 at Assman’s Funeral Chapel, 1908 Queensway, Prince George, BC with internment to follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Prince George. A tea will be held at the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church Hall at 2414 Vanier Dr., Prince George immediately after.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to the staff at Dunrovin Park Lodge for the four and a half years of tender loving care given to Kamilia during her stay there.
