There will be no funeral, but in the summer a memorial service will be held at the Australian Ranch, south of Quesnel, where she was raised. Her ashes will be interred in the family memorial park beside her twin sister, Eileen.

Kay had a wonderful heart and an infectious zest for life that touched all who knew her. She gave of herself bountifully and her spirit lives on through her friends and family. Kay’s efforts in volunteerism and leadership were well recognized and appreciated by the Women’s Auxiliary at Vancouver General Hospital and the Canadian Cancer Society. Kay was nominated and selected for the Canada Volunteer Award by the Minister of National Health and Welfare in 1986 because she did not wait to be asked to help. Her perception, her power of persuasion together with her ability to organize & her capacity for hard work improved not only the physical environment for patients undergoing treatment but their outlook on life generally.

A dynamo with a huge heart, she was a special lady and will be well missed.
