May 1, 2018
The family of Kathryn (Betty) E. Barlow regret to announce the passing of their beloved mother on May 1, 2018.
Betty leaves behind 1 Brother: Jim (Pauline), 5 children: Lawrence (Margaret), Brent, Micheal, Janet & Jo-Anne (Larry) and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Betty was predeceased by ex-husband Ole Grimsrud & 2nd husband Norman Barlow, siblings: Simon, Richard, Beulah, Greta & Jean, Parents: Kathryn & Peter and stepchildren: Thomas & Juanita.
Betty loved life and was a wonderful companion, always on the go while planning her next adventure or family gathering. Betty was a jokester and loved to talk to everyone, she wasn’t at all shy about “shaking a leg” at the first sound of music. She had the music rhythm in her soul and it just had to be satisfied. Betty was a poet, a writer, and an artist, she saw the beauty and potential in everything and everyone, and often found ways to capture it. Betty was a second “Mom” to all her children’s friends and a magnet for wayward souls (human or four legged). Unfortunately Betty inherited the horrendous Alzheimer’s disease, which had previously taken her mother and 2 siblings. So with great sadness we say goodbye to our beloved mother, with a loving farewell that she has found peace and clarity. With God’s grace she begins her new adventure.
We loved you!
Friends and family are invited to Betty’s Celebration of life: Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 3:00 pm, St.Andrew’s United Church, 1000 Huckvale Place, Williams Lake with a reception to follow service.
