It is with deep sadness the family of Larry Keis announce his sudden passing on January 7, 2011.

Larry was born on January 7, 1950 in Matsqui, B.C.

In 1975 Larry met Deanna at the original Bus Depot Cafe where she worked. They were married in 1980.

Many will remember Larry as the big guy that stood behind the counter of his business - Rempel Sales/Sports which he opened in 1989. Selling Ski-doo’s and Honda products and then later switching to hunting and fishing supplies. Larry, a proud man, stood behind his product, his customers and most of all his family and friends.

Many will miss their daily or weekly coffee and chat visits with Larry at Rempel Sports.

Larry loved spending time with his family and friends in the outdoors, ocean fishing or just a backyard BBQ. He also developed a fondness for cooking and became very good at it. Always looking forward to putting his special touch on the family meal.

Larry was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his wife; Deanna, children; Jennifer, Debbie (John) Matthews and Wesley; Grandaughter, Bernadette (Geoff) Irvine; Grandsons Kjell and Shane and great grandson Ethan; Mother Julia Keis; brother Bert (JoAnne) Keis; sister Teresa (Leonard) Gagne; Toni Kumpula, nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

Larry was predeceased by his father, Jules, daughter Susan and grandson Brandon.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Ambulance crew, GR Baker Hospital staff and everyone who sent flowers, cards, food and words of condolences. Special thanks to Jerry Karolat, guys from West Central Pipe, Jim & Barb, Karen Powell and Clayton’s Funeral Chapel for all your help during this difficult time.

No funeral was held by request but a “Celebration of Life” in honour of Larry will be held in the spring for his family and friends to share “Larry stories” and be together to remember a wonderful man.
