It is with great sorrow that we announce that long time Quesnel resident, Laura Nichols, passed away on July 3, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. Laura was surrounded by her family at the time of her death as she always was in her life. According to Laura’s wishes there will not be a funeral service.

Laura lived a rich full life. She enjoyed a career as a nurse and was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Laura loved the outdoors, ice fishing, camping and gardening. Laura was an active person until shortly before her passing. She walked regularly, she participated in the Senior games and was a member of the Golden Centre where she enjoyed socializing, playing cards and various other community activities where she was always seen with her closest companion, Vernon Noeth. Laura loved to laugh and was a very quick witted, forthright person. Laura loved her friends and family unconditionally and was greatly loved in return. Laura was also a great support to her entire family and will be sorely missed by everyone dear to her.

Laura is survived by her long time daily companion, Vernon Noeth; her children, Marcie (Merv) Hansen, Debbie Nichols, Mary Nichols and Kenny (Joanne) Nichols; her grandchildren Shannon Nichols, Aimis Marion, Sarah Nichols, Otis (Maria) Spivey, Ivan Spivey, Tristan Nichols, Jessica (Nick) Nichols, Rebecca Hansen, Layla Hansen and Keith Hansen; and 9 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Quesnel Home Support, G.R. Baker Memorial, Avery Clinic and Dr. Martins for all of their wonderful support.
