October 22, 1947 - March 13, 2021
Louise Friesen passed away March 13th, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her children.
She was born in Prince Albert, SK on October 22nd, 1947, and the family moved to BC in 1956. They lived in Kitimat, Smithers, and Fort Fraser, before eventually settling in Vanderhoof. Louise married her husband, Henry, in 1966 and moved to Quesnel in 1967. She was a homemaker who raised her own four children, volunteered at the Child Development Centre, and ran a home daycare.
Louise was predeceased by her husband, Henry, her parents, Bud and Wilma, her brother, Jerald and her sister, Linda. She is survived by her children, Diane, Sharon (Nick), Joanne and Michael (Hanni), six grandchildren, Shawn (Desiree), Daniel, Sarah, Megan, Jay and Andrew, two great-grandchildren, Chance and Keiran, her twin sister, Lois (Ray), her younger sister, Jerri-Lynn and her brother, Murray (Joy), as well as by many other family members and friends.
A private graveside service was held on March 19th, 2021. A celebration of life will follow when larger gatherings are allowed.
Louise loved to show her love for her family and friends through baking (her buns were legendary), and through being present at important events and in life's difficult moments. She had a gift for working with children, and she loved to snuggle babies, many of whom gifted her with their first smiles.
She was a wife, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a grandma, a neighbour, a daughter and a mom, whose door was always open, and where the coffee was always on. She endured many years of health challenges with grace and courage, and her faith remained strong, even on the toughest days.
Her warmth, her hugs and her kindness will be long remembered by those who knew and loved her.
