Lydia Bartel of Quesnel, B.C. passed away in her 91st year on February 1, 2009.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 7 at Maple Park Alliance Church with Kevin Downey and Garth Witzke officiating.

Cremation preceded the service. The eulogy was given by daughter, Lenora Fassett.

Lydia was born on March 19, 1918 in Drake, Sask. She was the first of eight children born to Gustav and Anna Ediger.

She was a farmer’s wife and lived in Drake and Watrous, Sask. until 1973, when she moved to Quesnel, B.C.

She married Arthur Bartel on October 27, 1939 in Drake, Sask.

Lydia was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She liked to do Trichem, knitting, gardening, puzzling and reading.

She is survived by her three sisters; Marie Regier, Joyce Warkentin, Velma Froese, children; Esther, Robert (Carolyn), Marj Christianson (Art), Dorothy Martens (Ed), Marie Mierau, Shirl Gill (Del), Nelson (Linda), Lenora Fassett (Francis), Dan (Shannon), Faith Burke (Mike).

She was predeceased by two brothers, three sisters and her parents.
