In loving memory ~
Magnhild peacefully passed away, surrounded by her husband and children, after her battle with cancer at the age of sixty-one.
She was predeceased by her father, Lars Fossberg and mother, Astrid Fossberg (Holt).
Magnhild is survived by her husband David, son Christopher (Desiree), daughter Hilary (Nolan), sisters Hildur (Len), Lillian (Tim), Anita (Russell), brother Paul (Theresa), sister in-laws Linda (Mike), Donna (Wayne), Darla, Kari, many nieces and nephews, and all her family in Norway.
Magnhild lived all across Canada and in Norway before settling with her family in Naramata, BC. She worked in the travel industry her whole life and she was extremely grateful to have experienced so many beautiful parts of the world. Her favourite trips were the ones with her family and friends, getting outside and seeing new things. Magnhild and Dave "bee-bopped" through New Zealand, Costa Rica, Mexico, through parts of Africa and Asia. She regularly travelled through Europe visiting countless countries, always "popping-over" to see her family in Norway.
Magnhild loved her animals, trees, and flowers, but more than anything she loved her kids and her husband of over 40 years. "Cricketty," there are a lot of beautiful memories! She loved her sisters and all her in-laws, constantly laughing her unmistakable laugh, and enjoying life. She had a lot of wonderful friends who she considered family and was so grateful for all of them. Her love of the outdoors and nature was shaped by one of her favorite places in the whole world, Troll Resort, which was built by her parents, Lars and Astrid. She loved to spend time at her cabin there with all her "special people."
Magnhild was known for her kindness, strength, and unending humor. She considered herself the luckiest girl in the world! "Until this happened!!" Magnhild felt blessed, loved, and like she had the best life she could have ever imagined. She had so many other plans, but it wasn't to be. Her family and friends will always keep her in their hearts, continuing to carry Magnhild everywhere else she wanted to go.
Special thanks to all doctors and nurses of Penticton Regional Hospital, the nurses of Moog and Friends Hospice and all the friends and family who have supported her these past couple of months.
Like they say in Norway,
"Takk for alt,"
"Thank you for everything!"
Lots of love with a big hug (while stepping on your foot so you can't run away), Magnhild
