It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Lyne announce her sudden passing. Margaret was born in Crescent Valley B.C. to parents Anna and Patrick Lyne. The family settled on the west side of the river in Quesnel, where they built a small farm, and raised their 6 children.
When Marg was 17 she quit school and went to work at the Post Office to help support the family as her father had gotten ill. She worked at the Post Office until her retirement in 1998.
Margaret raised her two daughters on a portion of the family farm that she purchased from her father. She loved her family, her home, all animals, nature, and playing cards. She was always more concerned with the needs of her family than her own. She was most proud of her grandchildren and spent her every breath ensuring their happiness.
Margaret is survived by her daughters Anna Arnett and Kerry Layton. Grandchildren Cody, Katie and Logan Arnett, as well as Storey, Fayre, and Hayes Layton, and Kinsay Boudreau. Also survived by her sisters Nell (Jack) Scott, Irene (Don) Durocher, Lanna Lyne-Bryant, and Pat Lyne. Sister in Law Carol McNaughton, and forever brother Hugh Olson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life with take place in Quesnel on May 16, 2020 when family and friends can gather in her honour during her favorite time of year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honour to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
"I love you too"
