The family of Marie Martin are saddened to announce that Marie passed peacefully after a short illness on January 28/24 at Dunrovin Park Lodge.
Marie was born March 23, 1935, to a large Mennonite family in Norquay, Saskatchewan.
Her parents were Isaac and Sarah Dyck. She had 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
As an adult, Mom followed 2 of her brothers west where she met the love of her life Charlie Martin. They married May 6, 1961, and began their lives together in Princeton, BC, where daughters Judy and Patti were born.
Chasing employment, they moved to Quesnel in the mid 1960's Mom loved her garden and always had beautiful flowers. She was an accomplished baker - when she worked at Gary's Pancake House her cinnamon buns were famous!
In 1996 the family was surprised and pleased to learn of and meet Marie's oldest daughter Marlies. Mom was so happy to have 3 more grandchildren to add to Judy's 2 boys.
Mom leaves behind 3 siblings, Marg, Sarah and Herman; her children Marlies, Judy and Patti, 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Al and Gwen Koberinski and family for all the love and support they've offered all these years.
Though her heart was full, she was lost when Charlie passed in August, 2023 and she was reunited with him after only five months.
We love and miss you so much Mom.
