Marilyn Rempel, a 40 year resident of Quesnel, B.C, passed away on December 17, 2020, at the age of 61 after battling cancer for a number of months.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ken Rempel; her children and Nick, Ben, and daughter-in-law Lindsey Rempel; her brother Earl Sept; and her sister Sharlene Logan.
Marilyn was born in Nelson on January 14, 1959 to Lincoln and Ida Sept. She graduated from LV Rogers Secondary School in 1976 and worked in many fields over the course of her life, including; librarian, business owner, payroll, and retail services.
On August 26, 1978, she married Ken, who she met shortly after high school through a mutual friend. On June 3, 1987 and November 10, 1992 respectively, she brought two sons into the world, who were important parts of her life.
Marilyn was a devoted mother and an avid scrapbooker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs, traveling to Haida Gwaii whenever the opportunity was available, combing beaches for agates and other treasures, and supporting those around her with her caring and sincere nature.
Marilyn was a loyal friend and ferocious advocate for those who were close to her. She held a lot of empathy and compassion, and was consistently thoughtful of others and things she could offer to help.
She will be deeply missed and cherished in the memories of her friends, family, and those who knew her.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a formal service will not be possible. Marilyn's family welcomes those who knew her to reach out via social media to share memories and thoughts for her.
