Pat Turner passed away peacefully on October 6 in Courtenay, BC. Mary Patricia “Pat” Hutchings was born October 28, 1933 in Saskatoon and grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta. After graduating from the Catholic High school there, she trained as a teacher in Victoria, and moved to Quesnel in 1952 to take a job at an elementary school. Pat married Bill Turner in the summer of 1954 and they built a cozy house on Gardner Street in Johnston subdivision, where they raised 5 children. Pat loved her family, friends, dogs, teaching, reading, knitting, and travelling. Pat was predeceased by her parents Harry and Helen Hutchings, her husband Bill, her daughter Vicki and her brother Murray and is survived by 4 children, Kathleen (Harvey), Pat (Leon), Harry (Mary Anne), Scott (Edgar), 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Pat will be held on Sat., October 15, 2011, 11am at Clayton’s Funeral Chapel, with interment at the Quesnel and District Municipal Cemetery.
