Melvin F. Allan of Quesnel passed away August 30, 2006 in Baker Lodge.

A Celebration of Life for Melvin will be held September 17 at 1 p.m. at the Golden Centre on Front Street.

Melvin was born April 26, 1923 in Emo, Ontario. He was raised in Rainy River District and later moved to Lake of the Woods area.

On December 4, 1942 Melvin married Mae Darrah in Devlin, Ontario and together they moved to Quesnel in 1967.

Melvin worked for Novak Logging and Dunkley Lumber.

He was involved in the Milburn lake community, Saddle Club, Interior Pony Association and Good Sam Club.

Melvin is survived by his wife Mae, his sons Fred (Elsie), Welton (Cyndie), his daughter Janice McLeod, three sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He is also sadly missed by many family and friends.

Melvin was predeceased by his daughter Judy in 1949 and his sons Reggie in 1952, Earl in 1956, Emery in 1998, Ed in 2005 and daughter-in-law Leah also in 2005.

Melvin was devoted to family and friends, hunting, fishing and travel.
