On August 8, 2006 Mr. Michael Gauthier of Port Alberni passed away suddenly at the age of 64 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol; two sons and one daughter, Andre (Brenda) Gauthier and their children Kayla, Matthew, Jasmine; Rene Gauthier and his son Saige all of Port Alberni, Nicole (Steve) Bilodeau and their children Hannah & Brett of Nanaimo, B.C. and one great grandson Jordan. Also survived by his father Paul Gauthier, two brothers and two sisters Pierre (Velma) Gauthier; Diane Gauthier (Dave) Jackson; John Gauthier; Colette Gauthier (Lyle) Sopel. Predeceased by his mother Mabel Gauthier.
Michael was a wonderfully loving husband and father and his grandchildren were all so precious to him. He was always busy, be it working or riding his mountain bike. He loved the outdoors, where he was spiritually at home. He will also be remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. He will be oh-so missed. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the acts of kindness and words of encouragement during this difficult time. A special thank you to his brotherhood of co-workers.
Celebration of Life was held August 11 in Edmonton. A service will also be held in Port Alberni, BC at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Habit for Humanity.
