Michael was born October 3, 1941 in Mission, B.C. and passed away March 17, 2008 in Quesnel.

The Karey family moved to the interior in the early 1950’s and then onto Quesnel. The whole family enjoyed the outdoors and spent a great deal of time hunting, fishing and camping.

Mike moved to Fort St. James in the early 1970’s with his son Zach but decided to return to Quesnel in the late 1980’s.

It was here in Quesnel that Mike spent the remainder of his life with his current wife Deborah and his two step daughters Lynnette and Monica.

Mike worked his entire life in the forest industry as a Millwright (Planerman) and had recently retired in 2006.

He loved the outdoors and like his childhood Mike continued to fill his spare time with outdoor activities like long walks, camping, hiking and fishing. Mike most enjoyed doing this with Deborah, his many family members and his friends.

Mike’s favorite lake was Marmot at Nazko. So to celebrate his life a camping and fishing weekend is being planned for this summer.

Mike is survived by his wife Deborah, brothers Danny (Patty), Raymond (Lorraine), his daughters and stepdaughters, plus a large extended family.
