1934-2021 ~ Mildred Esther Logie (nee Metters), age 86, passed away in the company of family on February 18, 2021.
Determined that her life be celebrated without sadness but instead with the sounds of Elvis and his gospel music, Esther requested a proper tea service in lieu of a funeral. We ask you to raise a cup of tea and remember Esther in your favourite way.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
Her love of the outdoors fueled her cooking adventures. Her garden was plentiful and full of variety over the years, including a wild current sapling, found while out walking the backcountry.
She made the best bread, apple pie, and jellies from scratch, and kept her cookie jar full for visitors and grandchildren. Her family credits Esther with being the glue that brought everyone together and ensured that many generations of family kept in touch with the events in each other's lives.
Esther leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Jim, her children, Joanne (daughters Joleene and Jodi), David (Marie, children Jennifer and Shawn), Rick (Elice, children Ryan, Tyler and Sadey), and Cathy (daughter Emily), along with 14 great-grandchildren.
Esther will be remembered by her sister, Barb, her brothers: Bob, Bill and Doug and her sister-in-law Shirley, her nieces and nephews. Esther is predeceased by her parents, Ron and Jean and her brother Fred.
