In Loving Memory ~
Muriel (Mickey) passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023. Mickey was born on January 13, 1932, in Vancouver and raised in Steveston, B.C.
Mickey was predeceased by her loving husband Donald (64 years), three sisters and two daughters-in-law.
Mickey is survived by her four children Gordon (Jennifer), David, Shannon (Ron), Donna (Ross), as well as her brother George (Sylvia) and many extended family.
In 1953 she graduated from Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing. Mickey enjoyed working as a Registered Nurse. She married Donald in 1954, moving to Quesnel together in 1956 where they purchased a drugstore that became Spencer Dickie Drugs, continuing as Donex Pharmacy today.
For 50 years Mickey and Don lived at Bouchie Lake where Mickey dedicated her life to raising her family and supporting the pharmacy business. She was a loving wife that was always up for an adventure. Mickey and Don enjoyed travelling, taking numerous trips throughout their life together.
In retirement, they spent many winters in Arizona and Mexico. In 2005 they moved to Lantzville, BC where they joined extended family and made many friends.
Mickey's love and commitment to her family was unconditional. She heartfully enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Mickey enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially gardening, camping, and skiing. Mickey was a gourmet chef (a foodie ahead of her time), who loved to cook for her family and many friends.
Mickey will be remembered for her big smile, kindness, generosity and always seeing the best in everyone.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the caregivers that supported Mom's journey with dementia.
Mickey's family will gather to celebrate her life at a later date.
