Olive Florence Thomas of Innisfail Alberta, formerly of Quesnel BC passed away quietly July 29th 2010, with the family she loved around her.

Olive was born in Barry , Wales August 21st 1923 as Olive Hayes and moved to Manitoba Canada with her mother in 1928 and then to BC in 1941.

She graduated from Gladstone Manitoba high school in 1941 and business school in Chilliwack BC 1942.

Olive worked at the Bank of Montreal in Chilliwack from 1942 until 1953 when she married Guy Thomas in January of that year.

She and Guy raised 2 children; Gerald born 1954 and Richard 1957.

Olive lived in the lower mainland of BC from 1953 until 1964 then resided in Quesnel until 2004 when they made their move east to Innisfail Alberta.

Olive was a woman to whom family meant everything, whose capacity for loving was unlimited and had love to spare for those around her.

She is remembered for not only her love and compassion for others but a sense of humor that never faded and a passion for crossword puzzles and bridge.

Olive showed that love in volunteering her time in many community activities in support of others; Hospital auxiliary, Red Cross the Library as well as other wonderful causes.

She is survived by her husband Guy and Sons; Jerry and Richard, Grandchildren; Amanda, Dustin, Adam, and Great-Grandchild Alexis.


1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 expresses this remarkable woman;

“4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

To the most wonderful Wife and Mother, Grandmother and friend we will always love you and miss you.
