It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Orville Mayland Johnson, aged 87 years. Orville moved to Quesnel in 1953 from Norquay, Saskatchewan, making it his home until his passing. He was employed as a carpenter for SD # 28 for decades, retiring in 1995. He was a loved father, uncle, grandfather, and husband to the late Anne Johnson (1937-2011) for 51 years.
Orville is survived by his son, Kelly, daughter Shelly (Myles Clay), his grandchildren Kirsten and Kienan, his 96 year old brother Gilbert Johnson (Manny) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, his 92 year-old sister Agnes Hansen of Norquay, Sask and many nieces and nephews.
Orville was predeceased by his father, Lars Johnson, originally from Trondheim, Norway; his mother Laura, who was a survivor of the Lebret Residential School (Saulteaux/Ojibway from Keeseekoose First Nation). He was also predeceased by his brothers Albert, Lars, and Norman; and his sisters Oriolle, Helen, and Ollie. Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
