July 27, 1939 - November 21, 2018
Patricia 'Pat' Mary Foulkes, 79, passed away on November 21, 2018 in Quesnel.

Pat was born in Liverpool, England on July 27, 1939, to Margaret and Hugh Foulkes. After teacher training in the UK, Pat emigrated to Canada in the late 1960s. She took up teaching in several BC communities including Cranbrook and Fort St. James, before settling in Quesnel. Pat was a school librarian and classroom teacher in the Quesnel School District for over thirty years. She retired from teaching in June of 1997.

During retirement Pat's interest in all things political remained. A passionate supporter of CBC, Pat enjoyed nothing better than a lively debate over the issues that captured her attention. An ideal day for Pat included watching a movie or a tennis match on TV, reading a mystery novel, and solving the New York Times crossword puzzle. Although Pat loved to stay at home, she also loved to travel. She visited many places in Canada and returned to the UK several times in order to connect with her family.

Pat is survived by her relatives Gaynor and Stephen Ainley, as well as her Auntie Glenys. She will be remembered fondly by her many long-time friends. Her insight and wit will be sorely missed. Poppi, Pat's faithful companion has a new, loving home with Linn. You are forever in our hearts, Pat. No service by request.

Donations to the Quesnel SPCA can be made in Pat's name.
