With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Pierce (Cannon) at her home in Kelowna, BC at the age of 91. Born in Quesnel, she was the youngest child of Frank and Elsie Cannon and the last remaining member of her family.
She married Lloyd Pierce Sept. 7, 1948 and together they had 5 children. They lived on Red Bluff for the early part of their married life but moved to Kelowna, BC in 1973. Over the years Pat worked as a waitress and book-keeper and was known for her diligence, determination and dependability.
The early years spent in the remote areas of Beavermouth, Dragon Lake and Moose Heights shaped her life and interests and the legacy she leaves behind; planting, growing, clean air, wholesome food and keeping fit and healthy. She lived the philosophy of reusing, recycling, and using natural remedies long before it was fashionable and she always stayed true to herself.
She was predeceased by Lloyd and son-in-law, Bert. She was dedicated to her family which included children Karen, Loy (Ron), Claude (Sylvie), Kathy and Candie (Richard), 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
No funeral by request but her family will gather later in the summer to enjoy some cheese straws and chokecherry syrup and celebrate the unique, self-reliant, resourceful person she was.
