It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Ray Piltz in Quesnel on April 5, 2016 at the age of 56.

He fought a courageous battle with cancer for the second and last time.

Ray was born in Quesnel on July 17, 1959. He grew up in the Nazko Valley.

He met his wife Christine in 1982 and they were married on August 3, 1985. Daughter Kelsey was born in 1986 and son Derek was born in 1990. They spent many years in the Bouchie Lake area and moved to the 10 Mile Lake area in 1997.

Ray was a hard working truck driver in the logging and mining industries. He loved to fish, relax by the lake, travel with his wife and work around the farm at 10 Mile lake. He was a dedicated father to his children and taught them many things, including how to shoot at targets and drive a 4x4 across the field, two things that held their esteem in being a `Cool Dad’.

He is survived by Christine, his daughter Kelsey (Chris) Strickland and son Derek, also sisters Janice (Fred) Magnuson and Colleen Piltz, along with his brohter Wayne (Lilly) Piltz and all of his nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by parents Edward in 2009 and Hazel in 2013.
