It is with sadness that Reg’s family announce his passing on November 26 at the Palliative Care Unit in G.R. Baker Hospital.

Reg was born in Vancouver, B.C. and zgrew up on a ranch at Meldrum Creek in the Chilcotin.

Reg joined the army when he was 18 and spent several years overseas in Britain and Europe. Upon his return he came back to the Cariboo where he became well known hauling freight from Kamloops to Prince George and later from Vancouver to Fort Nelson. He was bar manager at Quesnel and Salmon Arm Legions, worked at Weldwood and had the BA dealership. Finally he had the dealership for Snap On Tools and Mac Tools.

Reg retired in 1982 to spend time finishing the log home that he loved.

Because of his illness, Reg had been a resident for the last few years at Dunrovin and then Maple House Care facilities, where he was tenderly cared for.

Our family will be forever grateful to the nurses and care workers for the wonderful kindness and compassionate care that they gave Reg. They are all special people.

Thank you to Dr. McFetridge and the girls at the Avery Clinic and to the ‘gentle care’ staff at the hospital. God bless you al.

Thank you to Clayton’s Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life was held for Reg on December 1st.

Reg’s grandson Darrin read the 23 Psalm and his daughter Rachelle spoke of many memories and Sheena sang “Grampa” a tribute to their Poppa.

Long time friend Orville Milligan gave the eulogy. Following the service, a tea was held at the Legion Hall where many family and friends came to remember Reg. Thank you to the Legion members for their tribute to Reg, to Lisa for her piper’s tunes and to the Legion ladies for their delicious refreshments.

Thank you from our whole family. To everyone for their gifts of flowers, foods, cards and letters and all their support.

Reg leaves his greatest legacy; his loving family of eight children (one son and seven daughters), 32 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren and his wife Jean of 58 years. We are sure that Reg will be happily hunting with his good friend Harry and little dog Snoopy, but we will miss you Poppa.
