Robert (Bob) Ernest Scott passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 in Prince George, B.C. with his family at his side.

Bob was born on March 14, 1940 in New Westminster, B.C. to Bob and Elsie Scott.

One of Bob’s life passions was landscaping. Bob pioneered landscaping in Quesnel in the early 1960’s. He convinced the town to plant flowers along the entrance (Front Street) and today Quesnel is noted for this display.

Bob met and married Ida Corless in the early 1960’s and together they had two sons, Joel and Vince.

In the early 1970’s, Bob moved to Mackenzie and later met and married Sharon Lindsay and together they had two daughters, Stacey and Sara-Belle.

In the 1980’s Bob relocated to Prince George and launched a successful landscaping business (Scott Family Gardeners).

In 1991 Bob succumbed to years of substance abuse and sought treatment. After his recovery Bob became an icon in the delivery of drug and alcohol treatment services. This became Bob’s second life passion.

In 1996 he developed D.A.R.T. (Drug Awareness Recovery Team) a non-profit society designed to fill the gap in the government’s delivery of alcohol and drug services.

Bob received numerous awards and was nominated in 2006 for Prince George Citizen of the Year.

Over everything else, Bob considered his children his greatest gift of all.

Bob was pre-deceased by his father and has left behind his mother, sister Janice, brothers Doug (Annette) and Kelly. Sons Joel and Vince (Sue), daughters Stacey (Sean) and Sara-Belle (Jamie) and grandsons Justis and Jared, along with numerous other family members and every addict who deserves a second chance.

Memorial services for Bob will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Gateway Christian Ministries, 2055, 20th Avenue, Prince George, B.C. with a tea to follow at D.A.R.T., 1122 7th Avenue, Prince George, B.C.
