Robert Corbett

December 20, 2006

Robert A. Corbett passed away suddenly and peacefully at the age of 70 just before Christmas.

Bob came to the Cariboo from Montana by horse and wagon with his mother Nellie in 1947. Together they carved out a homestead at Coldstream Creek. Bob worked as a guide, a faller and in the local sawmills. At age 18 he had saved enough money to buy 13 Mile House where he raised his family and later retired.

He loved taking his grandchildren for walks in the woods and will always be remembered for his love of the forest.

Bob is survived by daughters Tanis (Rick) Stoltz, Terra Winter, Sharon Winter and grandchildren Sydney, Connor and Ryan.

No funeral by request. instead, an open house will be held from 1-4 pm on Thursday, January 4 at the Corbett Road residence.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cottonwood House Historical Society.

Until we meet again, we love you Dad.
