Robert Ralph Stewart passed away at GR Baker Memorial Hospital on December 13, 2008. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Summerside, PEI. He grew up in Borden, PEI with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

During his lifetime, Robert worked as a saw filer for 30 years.

He lived in Hinton, Alberta, Fraser Lake, B.C., Grand Cache, Alberta, Quesnel, BC and Edson, Alberta and belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion Quesnel Branch. In his spare time Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, quading and taking all of his grandchildren for rides on his quad.

On August 2, 1997 while living in Edson, Robert married Valerie Stewart. He eventually returned to Quesnel where he has lived for the past 10 years.

Robert is survived by his wife Valerie Stewart, siblings Rodger (Corrine), Glenda (Dan), Wally (Judy), Arlene (Rick), children Chris (Cheryl), Andy (Emmy), Nick (Tracey), Micheal (Connie), Candice, Sherry (Paul), grandchildren Brandon, Courtney, Travis and Brooklyn.

Robert is predeceased by parents Gordon and Dolly Stewart, siblings Judy, Alan, sister-in-law Darlene, brother-in-law Dave and father-in-law Edward Kirzy.

A funeral was held on December 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Clayton’s Funeral Chapel officiated by Father Dale Normandeau.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Quesnel Branch.
