Rod Williamson

November 9, 2006

It is with great sadness that the family of Rod Williamson announces his death following a trucking accident on November 9, 2006.

Born in Brooks, Alberta, Rodney grew up on a farm outside of Bow City, Alberta. He moved to Quesnel with his family when he was 16 and has lived here since.

He will be remembered as a kind and loving man, father and grandfather who loved life with his whole heart. He shared his laughter and joy with everyone who came in contact with him.

His love of the outdoors was shared with everyone, from the friends and family who knew him through his horseback riding, 4x4 driving, his many school trips as a parent and leader and his work in the community, both here and abroad on trips to Nicaragua and Africa.

His love for his family and friends was amazing. If ever anyone needed anything he was there.

Rod is survived by his wife Liz; daughter Laura (Mark); grandkids Elizabeth and Brian; daughter Kelly (Jens); grandkids Dane, Reese and Ava; parents Hazel and Earl Williamson; brothers George, Roger (Lois) and Clarke (Doris); and his nieces and nephews who were always so close to his heart.

Funeral services were held Nov. 15, 2006, at the Seniors Centre.

Our sincere thanks to Hildur, Holger, Peter and the crew for their valiant efforts to save Rod. We would like to say thank you to our family and friends for all the support and prayers we received as well as the many flowers and food platters that have been sent to our home.

We hope and pray that we all can meet up with Rod again when we get to heaven.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the BC Children’s Hospital for children were so dear to Rod’s heart.
