In Loving Memory of Romeo Gauthier (69)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Romeo Rosaire Gauthier on January 24, 2018 at GR Baker Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St. Ann's Hall. A tea will follow, along with a time to reminisce, share stories, and play music.

Romeo was born on August 11, 1943, in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan. He moved to BC in 1955, was married to his wife Denise in November 1963, worked in several different BC communities before he moved to Quesnel in 1977, and remained in the community as the respected and successful owner of Yellowhead Drywall.

Romeo loved time with family and couldn't wait for his weekly visits to the cabin at Quesnel Lake during the spring, summer and early fall. As the oldest of eleven children, he was the family patriarch, and was known for his sense of humour, generosity, and leading family jam sessions on his guitar. He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, brother, family member, and friend.

He is survived by his wife: Denise Gauthier; children: Suzanne Gurney, Gisele Edwards, and Richard (Angelina) Gauthier; grandchildren: Shawn, Kurtis, Shelby, Cassia, Telise, Jalen, Marley, Lakresha, and Taya; as well as brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Those wishing to honour Romeo's memory by way of donation may do so to Kidsport Quesnel, c/o The Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre.

The family would like to express their thanks for all the love and support. A special thanks to all the hospital staff and Dr. Buys.
