June 27, 1977 - April 29, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Charles Grant Giesbrecht. Ron was born to Joe and Yvette on June 27, 1977 in Quesnel, BC and passed away April 29, 2021 in Banff, AB. He was 43 years old.
Ron was drawn to the mountains at an early age, spending most of his adult life in Banff. His entrepreneurial spirit and love for business and adventure led him away a few times, but his heart always found its way home and back to his Banff family.
Ron truly lived hard and loved harder. He cared deeply for those in his life and wasn't afraid to show it. Ron had a way of giving a hug with a smile. He would often send messages of kind words via text, a phone call, with a selfie, or if you were lucky enough - he'd yell a hilarious catch phrase at you - sometimes even with a hiccup!
He touched the hearts of many people with his giant Pooh Bear sized hugs and his genuine love and zest for life. For this, and so many more things, he will be missed dearly.
Ron's deepest love was his family. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Yvette, and his brothers Tim (Julie) and Dwayne, and nieces and nephews Kirsten, Declan, Cadence, Isaiah, Kaleb, Ryleigh, Jaxon and Oliver, as well as many cherished cousins, aunts and uncles.
Ron's extended family was his friends, all of whom he treasured. His memory will live on in all of those who were lucky enough to experience his warmth, his heart and his laugh.
Ron's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the countless family members and friends who reached out with phone calls and messages of love and support, along with flowers, cards and food during this difficult time.
A service for Ron will be planned at a later date, when we are able to truly honor him in the way he'd expect us to.
