It is with sadness that the family of Sarah Frances McLean (nee Kephart) announce her peaceful passing on Thursday September 20th, with her family around her.
Sarah Frances was born in Edmonton AB, the eldest of five children of Jake & Lillian Kephart. After her mother’s passing when she was 8, her father married Mary, who was a wonderful stepmother, and they had a son Timmy.
In 1942 she met the love of her life, Bert McLean. They married and in 1946 moved with their young family to Quesnel. She was the dearly loved mother of Larry (Helen), Ferne (John), Susan, Melissa (Lawrence), Marilee (Duncan), Sandra (Ed), Daphne (Peter), Barbara (Bob), Coral (Pat), Berton (Sherra-Lee), Tara (Philip) and Danny.
She was predeceased by her husband Bert in 1989 and children Susan in 2011, Danny on August 25, 2018 and daughter-in-law Lily in 1988. Also, by her siblings in Alberta: Mona, Jean, Morton and Earl. She is survived by 10 children, 36 grandchildren and also great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also, by her brother Tim, other family members and many friends.
Frances had a deep and abiding faith in God that sustained her all through the years and was a blessing to her family. She was a loving and caring person whom everyone adored. She will be sadly missed and her memory cherished.
Her funeral will take place on Saturday, September 29th at 1:00 pm.
Due to space considerations, the funeral will be projected at 1:00 pm, at the Quesnel and District Senior Centre (461 Carson Ave) followed by a tea. The family will gather at Clayton’s Funeral Chapel for the service and will join the tea later. Danny’s ashes will be buried with his Mother.
