Shirley Luise Kriberg (nee Karolat) passed away May 9, 2008 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 69.

Shirley will be dearly missed by her children Dawn (Dwayne) and Lori (Darryl), grandchildren Hayden, Kalen, Nolan, Austin and Grace, brothers Jerry (Betty), Werner (Donna), Wayne (Cindy) and Wilfred (Mary), sisters Trudy (Ted), Linda (Woodie) and Cindy (Ray), and by Jim.

Shirley was born in New Westminster on December 21, 1938 and resided at Pitt Meadows. When she was 5, the family moved to the Cariboo where she attended school. After graduation in 1958 she started a career in banking and retired officially in 2004 after 40 years. During earlier years she worked in various branches enabling her to live in different parts of B.C. and she even worked with the Armed Forces Bank in Germany.

In 1961 she married and moved to Germany, returning to Quesnel in 1965, where she lived until she moved to Calgary in 1994 to be near her daughters and their families. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Shirley had many talents. She was a talented seamstress, knitted, crocheted and painted. She was active in the extra curricular activities at the bank when there was decorating or planning to be done.

Shirley had an amazing spirit and love of life that her arthritic body was unable to keep down.

A celebration for friends and family will be held in July.
