Nov 6, 2017
After a long illness, our dear mom passed away quietly on November 6th, 2017 at Dunrovin Park Lodge.

Shirley was born in Quesnel and raised on a farm in Woodpecker, BC with her family. She moved to Wells where she met her husband Louie and raised her childrenwhile working in the Deluxe General Store. Shirley then worked for BC Parks as a first aid attendant in Barkerville before the family moved to Quesnel in 1978. She then completed her career working in GR Baker Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records Department.

Predeceased by her husband Louie in 2014,

Shirley is survived by her son Don (Kim) Hong of Surrey, grandsons Alex and Adam, granddaughters Krista and Rylee. Daughter Gina of Campbell River, sister Joyce of Hixon, Brother-in-law Ray and Muriel Hong of Quesnel and Sister-in-law Lil and Jack Lee of Burnaby, and many nieces and nephews.

Don and Gina would like to acknowledge the love and support of mom's best friend Marilyn Strang of Quesnel and the staff of Dunrovin Park Lodge who gave mom the "best freakin' care ever".

For those that knew mom, she had and a quick wit that would catch you off guard and with a straight face, she would be waiting for a response...sassy or shocked with a glint in her blue eyes.

Shirley was known for her art work and her wide interest in nature and medicine.

In honour of Shirley's wish for no service, donations can be made to a charity of your

choice or to Dunrovin Park Lodge Comfort Fund, helping those who are less fortunate.
