December 6, 1923 - November 18, 2019
It is with sadness that Stan's family announce that he passed away in his sleep in the early hours of November 18, 2019.
While his passing is indeed poignant, there is a smile there too, given Dad's lifelong appreciation for that all-important afternoon nap. He went to sleep happy and comfortable in his bed at Dunrovin Lodge and simply slipped quietly away, as we are sure he would have chosen to do.
Stan was a doting husband to Lauretta, a great Dad who led by example, a cool and fun Grandpa, an awesome Uncle and a loving and compassionate caregiver to the many creatures under his stewardship.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his unfailing good nature and his sense of humour. He was forever a gentleman, a genuinely nice man and, once in a while, a shameless flirt.
He is happy now....he is once again with Lauretta; he can visit with his brother and best friend Gordon, he'll be playing with his feathered children, Alf and Bubba, and he'll get to go to Tim Horton's for that coffee with extra cream, and a muffin.
Dad really hated the cold, so in keeping with his wishes, a
Dad was very happy at Dunrovin Lodge where he received love and incredible care, and his family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation in his name be made to the residents there.
