Viola May Jeffrey

Viola May Jeffrey (nee Irwin) passed away on August 25, 2006.

Viola was born in Quesnel, February 11, 1928. She lived in the Topley Babine Lake area in the 1930s and grew up at Dragon Lake near Quesnel.

She worked for B.C. Telephone Co. in Quesnel and later in Vancouver, where she met and married William Jeffrey.

Viola raised three children, living in mining comminutes across Canada and in Tanzania.

At Granisle Vi worked 24 years for Canada Post before retiring in 1997.

Viola will be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends for her kindness and love.

Left to mourn are her husband of 52 years, William Jeffrey of Granisle, sons Neill of Coquitlam and Irwin of Terrace, sister Doris Siewert of Rocky Mountain House, grandsons Masaki Matthew and Colin.

Vi was predeceased by her brothers William, Roy Irwin, daughter Sharon Jeffrey and nephew Willy Siewert.

The family thanks nurses, doctors and other workers at lake’s District Hospital for their care and kindness as they attended to Viola in her last days.
