It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Vivian Leigh Sagar (nee Werk).

Vivian was born February 12, 1948 and passed away on April 25, 2009.

Vivian was born in Vancouver, B.C. and was raised in Richmond. She married George Sagar and they made their home in Ladner, B.C.

Together they raised her two daughters Sarah Sagar and Melissa Sagar Garcia.

Vivian loved springtime, working in her garden, music, singing and crafts.

She cherished her many dear friends who loved to come by to visit and have coffee.

In March 2003 Vivian ventured North to Quesnel to join her daughter Melissa and son-in-law Luis Garcia. Within three weeks of arriving she met her companion, Bill Manning and settled into a home in Red Bluff. Everyone there was inspired by Vivian’s gardens and friendship. She had a passion for life and lending a helping hand. She made everyone smile. If she was having a tough day Bill would sing to her and turn everything into roses.

Vivian’s hugs and smiles will be greatly missed by her partner Bill Manning, children Sarah Sagar and Josh Boughen, Melissa Sagar Garcia, son-in-law Luis Garcia and especially granddaughter Nina Maria Garcia, sisters Arlene McCarthy, Norma Werk and brother Arthur Werk.

Vivian was predeceased by her father and mother Arthur and Wilma Werk and sister Carolynn.

She always took time to smell the flowers and also knew how to make them bloom.

A memorial service will be held at Richmond Minoru Chapel on May 15 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Quesnel Palliative Care or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at GR Baker Memorial hospital in Quesnel for caring for our mother and to our friends, many thanks for your support.
