Vivian Louise Schweitzer

October 15, 2007

Our Mom left us to join Dad and Lorraine Oct 15 while in the Rainbow Care Facility in Prince George.

Mom was born July 7, 1918 in Dinsmore Sask. and later her family moved her to Red Cross, Sask. where she met our Dad, Joe Schweitzer. They were married in 1938 and moved to the Osoyoos area where Mom cooked in the logging camp where Dad worked.

In 1948 they moved to Quesnel where Dad worked in the forest industry and Mom later ran a boarding house and then went to work for the Twin Motel and later for Stedman’s.

Mom and Dad enjoyed many years of square dancing and camping until Dad’s health failed.

Mom kept busy with her volunteer work with Baker Lodge and her crafts and supplied many a bazaar with her treasures. Each of her family as well as many friends have at least one of her afgans to remember her by.

In 2002 she moved to Prince George where she lived in her very own apartment.

In July 2005 she moved into Rainbow Care Facility.

Mom was predeceased by husband Joe in 1981, daughter Lorraine in 1984, and sister Audrey.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters, Louise (Domenico) Celli and Josie (Ted) Kohlen of Prince George, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, brother Ron and sister Evelyn.

We would like to thank the staff at Rainbow and the other residents and families for the kind care and attention Mom received. You are truly angels and became our extended family.

At Mom’s request there will be a graveside service at Quesnel Cemetery.

If you are able, please donate a pint of blood in Mom’s memory.

Happy square dancing Mom and Dad!
