Wayne Charlton passed away on October 6, 2010.

Wayne was born in St. John, New Brunswick on August 24, 1940. His family moved to Tofino, BC where he met his future wife Elvina. They were married on September 26, 1959.

He is predeceased by his father Hedley and his mother Helen.

He is survived by his wife Elvina, son Ralph (Maggie Carpentier), son Derek, granddaughter Veronica (Mike Campbell), granddaughter Ashley (Wes Collinge), sisters Bernice Jackson and Gwenda Sutherland as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Wayne moved his family to Kersley, BC in 1980. He worked as a logging truck driver until his retirement. In addition to his family and work commitments, Wayne also gave many hours to the community of Kersley – including the heading the fundraising drive to start the Kersley Volunteer Fire Department, and Vice President then President of the Kersley Community Association for twelve years.

In addition he also co-chaired the Transportation Committee for the BC Winter Games in 2000, fundraiser for the CT Scan Committee for GR Baker Memorial, and managed the implementation of the Sisters Creek Recreational Site amongst many other committees.

A memorial service was held at the Kersley Community Centre on October 14, with his family and friends present.

Wayne was dedicated to family, friends, and community and will truly be missed.
